Schwarz Digits creates the technological foundation for digital sovereignty in Europe. As the IT and digital division of the Schwarz Group, we develop and manage the IT infrastructures for the retail divisions Lidl and Kaufland, as well as Schwarz Production and PreZero. At the same time, we operate as an independent provider in the external market to support companies across Europe in their digital transformation. We bundle our core services in the areas of Cloud, Cyber Security, Data & AI, Communication, and Workspace.

Join us and contribute to digital sovereignty in Europe. With us, you will work at the intersection of agility and security: You will benefit from fast decision-making processes, enjoy genuine creative freedom in your projects, and be able to build upon the stable foundation of the Schwarz Group.

Your Tasks

  • Vision & Strategy: You define and keep up to date the long term vision and strategy for one managed database product, taking into account current market demand, customer requirements, and the overall STACKIT and DBaaS vision and strategy.
  • Operational Support & Backlog Refinement: You work hand in hand with the Engineering Manager to technically refine and prioritize the product backlog for the database service, making it transparent and actionable for the engineering team at all times.
  • Requirements Management: You translate complex cloud infrastructure and enterprise database requirements into precise technical user stories and define clear acceptance criteria that serve as a reliable basis for delivering highly available database instances.
  • Interface Management: You communicate the team's successes to the outside world. You present new features (e.g., automations, backup strategies, security features) to stakeholders and moderate the technical exchange between IT, cloud architects, and internal/external customers.
  • Team Presence: You are part of the agile ceremonies (Daily, Planning, Retros) and serve as the direct, operational point of contact for the dev and cloud engineering team regarding technical and functional questions around the database offering.
  • Quality & Acceptance: You accompany feature development through to release on the STACKIT cloud platform and perform functional acceptance testing to ensure that database services are performant, secure, multi-tenant capable, and deliver real value to users.
  • Stakeholder Communication: You manage alignment with internal and external customers, proactively validate requirements for feasibility within a sovereign cloud environment, and gather valuable feedback for the product roadmap.

Your Profile

  • Experience: You bring solid experience as a Product Manager, Product Owner, Business Analyst, or in a comparable interface role within the cloud ecosystem or database infrastructure domain.
  • Agile Mindset: Scrum, Kanban, and writing technical user stories are part of your daily toolkit – you value and live an iterative way of working.
  • Technical Understanding & Analytics: You possess a strong understanding of relational database management systems, cloud platforms, and IT infrastructures. You can quickly grasp complex technical concepts and tailor them for various target audiences from cloud engineers to business stakeholders.
  • Strong Communication: You are a team player with excellent moderation skills. It is easy for you to mediate between customer requirements and technical feasibility within a highly secure cloud environment and to inspire people with new features.
  • Language Skills: You communicate confidently in English suited for our international tech environment.
