Cutting-edge technology for Europe’s security: Strategic partnership between Uvision Europe and Schwarz Digits

  • With STACKIT, Schwarz Digits offers Uvision Europe digital autonomy and full data sovereignty under European jurisdiction.
  • Through technological independence, Schwarz Digits secures the foundation for Europe’s sovereign defense capabilities.
  • The alliance strengthens the operational capabilities of armed forces through sovereign, software-based defense systems.

Heilbronn/Munich, March 25, 2026 – Schwarz Digits, the IT and digital division of the Schwarz Group, and Uvision Europe are entering into a technological partnership to strengthen European defense capabilities. The focus is on providing a sovereign cloud infrastructure for Uvision Europe’s high-precision systems. By utilizing the German hyperscaler STACKIT, the systems’ seamless digital sovereignty is ensured—a fundamental prerequisite for use in national and alliance-related defense scenarios.

Technological sovereignty as a guarantee of security

The partnership addresses the growing dependence of national security architectures on non-European technology. Today, true political sovereignty imperatively requires control over digital infrastructure. If data flows and software updates are subject to foreign jurisdiction, the state’s freedom of decision-making becomes vulnerable to blackmail. Schwarz Digits acts as a technological guarantor here: by processing mission-critical data exclusively in a sovereign, European cloud, the defense architecture remains independent of external influence. This digital autonomy is the foundation for the resilience of a robust democracy. For Schwarz Digits, the cooperation signifies the consistent expansion of activities in the security and defense sector.

Christian Müller, Co-CEO of Schwarz Digits: “Strong technological partnerships are key to empowering democratically legitimized armed forces to fulfill their mission of national and alliance defense. We provide the sovereign digital backbone so that innovative partners like Uvision Europe can fully realize their capabilities.”

Roman Didenco, CEO of Uvision Europe: “At Uvision Europe, we see digital sovereignty as a mission-critical enabler, not merely an IT requirement. Our systems are designed to deliver precision, operational flexibility and rapid integration across evolving operational environments. Through this partnership with STACKIT, we can offer European armed forces a sovereign digital backbone that supports secure deployment, resilient mission continuity, and full control over sensitive operational data under European jurisdiction.”

STACKIT’s Highly Secure Cloud Architecture

STACKIT’s cloud architecture follows the principle of “Sovereignty by Design” and provides the technological foundation for independent, deployable defense IT. Based on an open-source stack, STACKIT implements a seamless infrastructure that decouples data processing from stationary data centers and extends it via decentralized nodes all the way to the mobile “Tactical Edge” in the operational area.

The “air-gapped” concept ensures operational capability through physical isolation from the public internet—even when connectivity is interrupted. Supplemented by specialized security capabilities such as quantum-resistant encryption and future communication stacks for the VS-Geheim classification level, STACKIT offers seamless sovereignty that consistently prevents access by extraterritorial legislation and protects the integrity of sensitive data streams against digital intrusions.

Precision for European Armed Forces

Uvision Europe brings its expertise in autonomy, AI, and multi-domain integration, developed at the group’s global research center. The company develops both fixed-wing and rotary-wing platforms and offers a comprehensive portfolio of precision systems that operate seamlessly in the air, on land and at sea. The systems, developed to NATO standards, offer armed forces decisive advantages in modern operational scenarios. The partnership with Schwarz Digits ensures that these high-precision capabilities remain resilient, operational at all times, technologically self-sufficient and logistically secure under European control.
