Digital Sovereignty Meets Medical Excellence.

From Fragmented Data Silos to Connected Clinical Workflows

Healthcare institutions face increasing financial pressure and rising operational demands. To maintain long-term financial sustainability while elevating care quality, hospitals must unlock the value embedded within health data held by their organization or affiliated partners. Currently, fragmented databases and the lack of interoperability often impede this transformation, thereby preventing clinical progress in diagnosis, therapy and prevention, and blocking the deployment of modern AI capabilities.

Two Strong Partners With a Shared Vision

Schwarz Charité Health Data GmbH was established to support health care institutions in optimizing their clinical workflows, improving patient care and driving sustainable value generation.

As a joint venture between Schwarz Group and Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, we combine two strong leaders from their respective fields: Charité represents state-of-the-art clinical care combined with cutting-edge medical research, while Schwarz Group delivers enterprise-grade, sovereign cloud infrastructure via Schwarz Digits.

The HIVEPRO data platform permits vendor-neutral use of medical data by utilizing internationally acknowledged standards (openEHR and HL7 FHIR). This enables healthcare institutions to enjoy long-term, vendor-independent access to their medical information stored in the sovereign STACKIT Cloud.

Sovereignty, Practical Expertise and Proven Trust — The Foundations of a Strong Alliance

Digital sovereignty, practical solutions and trust are essential for the successful digitalization of the healthcare sector. Schwarz Charité Health Data GmbH combines the core strengths of two strong partners into a new technological force.

Powerful Alliance

In this strategic partnership, Schwarz Charité Health Data GmbH combines medical excellence with a sovereign cloud infrastructure, supporting its customers to achieve full data sovereignty on a scalable platform.

Robust Interoperability

HIVEPRO builds upon proven technologies from the HiGHmed Consortium as part of the German Medical Informatics Initiative (MII).

Data Sovereignty

Data hosting and operations run on the European STACKIT Cloud infrastructure within data centers in Germany and Austria.

Isolated Data, Inefficient Clinical Workflows

The lack of seamless data exchange and the absence of stable and highly precise foundations for long-term data aggregation negatively impact operational costs, leading to substantial loss of valuable clinical working hours and eventually compromising patient safety. We address the core pain points across five key target groups:

Financial Pressure & Investment Backlog

Inefficient processes and duplicated documentation inflate operating costs without generating digital value.

Paper documents transforming into digital data streams and glowing screens.

Security and Technological Interoperability

HIVEPRO seamlessly integrates into existing IT infrastructures, facilitating the long-term reusability of clinical data. As your trusted digital health partner, Schwarz Charité Health Data GmbH is fully committed to meeting the specific regulatory requirements of the healthcare sector.

European Cloud Sovereignty

Operation and data storage are conducted entirely on the sovereign STACKIT cloud infrastructure, with data centers located in Germany and Austria. This ensures data sovereignty within the European legal framework in compliance with European data protection regulations. All processing and storage operations take place within the EU.

National & European Network Integration

HIVEPRO serves as a turnkey technological gateway. It provides hospitals with the capability to connect to major national research networks and ensures compatibility with the European Health Data Space (EHDS).

EHRshow: Vision for openEHR-based Application Marketplace

With the integration of EHRshow, HIVEPRO will soon feature a dedicated app store for clinical applications. This will allow healthcare facilities to easily source innovative, openEHR-based third-party apps for daily clinical use and seamlessly embed these into their existing CDR environment.
