Neckarsulm, June 19, 2024 – STACKIT, the cloud provider of Schwarz Digits offering data sovereignty, has been supporting the institutions at the Heilbronn Bildungscampus with cloud services for many years. This offer is now being rolled out across Germany as part of the “Academia” program. Universities and research institutions will be given the opportunity to use STACKIT cloud services for free, in some cases, or at a heavily reduced price for research, education, and their production systems. “Education and research are the cornerstones of social progress,” says Walter Wolf, Board Member at Schwarz IT, explaining this step at the Cloud X Summit. “That is why it is essential that we store and process scientific data in Germany. Neckarsulm, 14. June 2024 – Schwarz Digits, the IT and digital division of Schwarz Group (including Lidl and Kaufland) is realigning its agency offering. The IT arm of the division, Schwarz IT, acquired mmmake (then Camao IDC) in May 2020 in order to strengthen its IT expertise and provide external customers with an additional digital service offering. Camao IDC had 60 employees at the time. The full-service digital agency offers consulting, software development and IT services, traditional agency services such as social media campaigns and moving image productions as well as HR transformation consulting, including implementation with SAP.

By comparison, the losses resulting from natural disasters amounted to EUR 230 billion. Geopolitical disruptions and rapid developments in artificial intelligence led to a further increase in cyberattacks. Means of communication are also being targeted: For example, through vulnerabilities in communication tools, attackers gain access to company secrets or sensitive data that they can use for further attacks.

The C5 criteria catalog specifies the minimum requirements for secure cloud computing and is primarily aimed at professional cloud providers, their auditors and customers.
